The Safeco Insurance Foundation is a separate 501(c)3 endowment fund established in 2006. Today’s announcement marks the first major grants to be funded by the Foundation. “The Safeco Insurance Foundation was established last year by Safeco Corporation in order to continue the civic and community leadership the company has demonstrated during its 84-year history. Blessed to have our headquarters in Seattle, we at Safeco are inspired everyday by the people in our community,” said Virginia Anderson, president of the Safeco Insurance Foundation. “Today, we are honored to be able to support the powerful work of organizations that work to ensure that all people who live here are included and engaged in the social, cultural and economic life of the region. With our first grants, the Safeco Insurance Foundation supports three extraordinary projects, and the organizations that have brought them to fruition, that celebrate the diverse heritage of Seattle and provide for the success of its future.” Safeco, in business since 1923, is a Fortune 500 property and casualty insurance company based in Seattle. ©2007 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED
