Business Tools | Thursday November 29 ComputerLogic Releases Updated PMCLogicComputerLogic, Inc. has released its latest version of PMCLogic at NACE 2007. PMCLogic has a direct interface connection to Audatex, CCC, and Mitchell estimating systems, providing a fast and accurate estimate for paint and material. An estimate generated for a specific vehicle type includes the amount of paint and material expected to be used on that job based on the panels or structural parts to be replaced, repaired, or refinished. In addition, any other special conditions or requirements for a specific repair are included in the calculation. Generating the PMCLogic estimate from a vast database of industry best practices information and current product prices aims to produce an accurate price for the total paint and material used in the repair. Richard Palmer, president and founder of ComputerLogic, stated, “Customer feedback has been extremely positive. ‘Ease of use’ is the initial reason customers like it and ‘accuracy of the information’ is what sells them on the product for the long term.” Kerry Friar, PMCLogic’s Product Manager noted, “For many years the Collision Repair Iindustry has been seeking an easy and accurate method of calculating the ‘real cost’ of paint and materials used during the repair process. PMCLogic provides that solution. Today, repairers and insurers can quickly reach an agreement on the amount of reimbursement due for the volume, quality, and color of paint used in refinishing a specific vehicle. The old method of calculating an allowance for paint and materials by multiplying the number of refinish hours from an Audatex, CCC, or Mitchell estimate times an arbitrary dollar amount, which differs from repairer to repairer, is very inaccurate and unfair to both parties. The correct way to handle this task is to calculate the reimbursement amount based on the facts: how much paint and material is used for each unique repair and what is the cost of those products? If all repairers and insurers used PMCLogic on every job, cycle time could be greatly improved and ‘friction cost’ would be reduced.” ComputerLogic, Inc., headquartered in Macon, Georgia. is a provider of technology solutions with over 27 years of global experience in the automotive aftermarket. The company sells and supports its products in 24 countries. ©2007 Collision Repair Industry INSIGHT | FEATURED
