Business Tools | Thursday September 18 Students Honored with $15,000 in Tools at 7th Annual AASP MA/RI Golf OutingOn August 21, AASP MA/RI held its 7th annual Golf Tournament. The event, held once again this year at the Wayland Country Club in Wayland, Massachusetts, boasted nearly 70 players representing all segmentss of the Massachusetts collision and mechanical repair community, as well as a number of donated prizes courtesy of sponsors from around the industry. Proceeds from the tournament went to the association’s future technicians’ scholarship fund.AASP MA/RI also honored four special students studying to become automotive repairers with tools to help them on their path to becoming industry professionals. Chris Hawkins (Westfield Vo-Tech High School), Shawn Hellian (Bay Path Vo-Tech), Joshua Pellatier (Diamond Regional), and Rachel Fonseca (Greater New Bedford RVTHS) were awarded Snap On tool sets valued at $15,000. To date, AASP MA/RI has donated over $60,000 in tools to collision and mechanical repair students. “As in years past, this year’s golf tournament was very successful,” said AASP MA/RI President Rick Starbard. “Thanks to the participation and support of all involved, we were able to once again provide four rising stars in the repair industry with some valuable tools to help jump-start their careers, while enjoying a relaxing day of golf and promoting a great cause.
