Open Your Eyes

This month’s feature article is a real eye-opener. During these tough economic times we all need to be vigilant to protect ourselves against the scam and fraud artists that try to take advantage of our willingness to be nice and generous. A careful reading of this article could save you your business’s good name, your hard-earned money, and your valuable time.

I applaud the shop owners and managers interviewed for our feature for describing the frauds and scams they faced. Getting the word out on these schemes may save shops across the nation from becoming victims of these rip-off losers.

The shameless sob story con game of begging for help from good-natured people really makes me shudder. Now is a good time to remind ourselves that our Collision Repair Industry has a big and generous heart - AND many reputable charitable opportunities available all year long, spearheaded by our national and local organizations. We can certainly give generously - let’s just make sure we give to people and causes that really need help.
