Our feature article offers some practical ideas for the collision repair facility, aimed at cutting costs and squeezing more dollars into the bottom line. Sometimes it is good for one’s attitude to have a new little project at hand. Greenleaf Auto Recyclers has changed hands again. This time the new owner is LKQ Corporation. See page 3 for more information. For a report on the recent SCRS State Affiliates Meeting, turn to page 13. State associations have been making some noise at state legislatures recently. INSIGHT’s TrendLine survey this month, about shop participation in paint company value added programs is NOT intended to present national market share percentages. As always, the results are based only on subscriber body shop owners and managers who have responded to our faxed survey form. There are noticeable drops in both levels of importance of several program components and in overall satisfaction this time around. This dip may tell us more about the current poor economic conditions, and their impact on our level of grumpiness, rather than upon any real dissatisfaction with value added programs that have always been tailored specifically to shop needs. It is great to hear that Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes has planned to expand the company’s presence on the exposition floor at NACE 2009, despite the current limping economy. Thanks to Sherwin-Williams for continuing to make collision repair facilities a priority. Speaking of NACE 2009, scheduled for the first week of November in Las Vegas, if you have not registered yet go to www.NACEexpo.com today for registration information.
