Matter of Fact

by Karen Kilbane

Our feature this month looks at some ways that you can make a difference - in little things. We probably can all name several big issues facing our industry. Most of us can feel overwhelmed and powerless in the face of big problems. Read about some pretty simple things we can do that will really matter.

See page three for some cutting edge news from I-CAR. With the help of KMC On Demand, I-CAR is moving forward onto the Web to provide some online technical training courses.

Another new partnership is highlighted on page 6. CARSTAR, the largest group of branded collision repair centers in North America, and the Hertz Corporation, the biggest airport car rental brand in the world have agreed to roll out a new vehicle rental program across the CARSTAR network of facilities.

Be sure to read a special report (see page 12) from the 2010 East Coast Resolution Forum, sponsored by SCRS and AASP-NJ.

The NABC has been busy lately. See page 15 for news about the first First Responders’ Emergency Extrication (FREE) program. Then, read about the search for 2010 PRIDE Award nominees. In our industry there are countless possible nominees who deserve to be recognized for their generous sharing of time, talent, and treasure with those in need. Please be sure to take the time to nominate the unsung heroes you know for the PRIDE awards.

Take a little time to check out this month’s CSI Stars, on page 24. It is always a pleasure to publish the names of collision repair facilities whose staffs take awesome care of their customers and their vehicles. We all appreciate the good work you do. The fact is that you improve the image of our industry on a daily basis. Your professionalism matters!
